UNESCO has designated Yatai floats in Takayama as a world heritage

YATAI FLOAT FESTIVAL in TAKAYAMA as UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity
The character of the festival is the beautiful floats.
All the floats are beautifully decorated with curvings, curtains ,dolls and metal works
They have been made using amazing techniques of local skillful carpenters.




There are 2 festivals every year.
Spring festival is held on 14th & 15th April.
Autumn festival is held on 9th & 10th October.

It was 200000 visitors for the autumn festival this year.

Luckily all the floats of spring & autumn festival  will be pulled through the town and displayed on a street on 29th &30th April 2017

高山祭がユネスコ無形文化遺産に！

「高山祭の屋台行事」を含む全国33件の文化財からなる「山･鉾･屋台行事」がユネスコ無形文化遺産に登録されました。

高山祭は京都の祇園祭、埼玉の秩父祭と並び日本３大祭りであります。
今年の秋祭りには２日間で２０万にもの観光客が訪れました。
　

春の高山祭（山王祭）は毎年4月14～15日、秋の高山祭（八幡祭）は毎年10月9～10日に開催され、毎年多くのお 客様にお越しいただいています。来年（平成29年）4月29日(土)･30日(日)の２日間には、春12台・秋11台の屋台すべてが曳き揃えられる催しが 予定されています。

このことにより益々、高山が盛り上がるといいですね。
